The Family Weekly Planner provides children with an overview. What day is it today? On which days do they have gym or lunch club? When is the party or when is the babysitter coming? It's also helpful for children with co-parenting and/or blended families. On the planner, you can indicate when they are in which house. Choose a different color magnet for each child. If you have two children, use the third color for the parent(s) for tasks like picking up from school/childcare and bedtime.
How does the Family Weekly Planner work?
Each day is divided into three sections that can be used for morning, afternoon, and evening, or you can choose a horizontal bar for each child. The set includes three blank magnet sheets in three different colors. Choose a different color for each child. Then, select the illustrations you want to use from the sticker sheet. The sticker sheet contains transparent stickers that you can place on the magnets. The illustrations represent different activities. The meanings of the images are explained in the legend. You can also give your own meaning to the pictures. You can draw your own pictures on blank magnets.
The benefits of a weekly planner
- Structure and peace of mind. A quick glance at the weekly planner shows what day it is and what's going on. Children appreciate this.
- Independence. Children can see the whole week at a glance. Should they go to school or not? When is their swimming lesson or the party? It promotes time awareness and encourages personal responsibility.
- Preparedness. Even for less enjoyable things, such as going to the dentist, a weekly planner is helpful. If a child is prepared for a stressful event, it's usually less difficult in the moment.
